Are you confused about how you even got here? Feeling like your life is not truly your own? Are you feeling stifled from speaking your truth? Feeling disconnected from your true voice? And perhaps you are even stuck in your journey as a creative.
Art therapy can be an empowering way gain understanding of what your story means to you, and envision the life you have always dreamed for yourself.
Hi, I am Jennifer, an art therapist. My practice includes art therapy and traditional talk therapy. Through art materials, writing, and talk therapy, you can better understand who you are, where you have been, and who you wish to become. You can explore the stories that are working for you, and those that are not. Creativity can be a beautiful way to connect to ourselves, our stories, and who we are.
We all have a right to our own voice, our own story. Too often, our life stories are shaped by others, without our consent, to fit a dominant societal narrative. For me, being an art therapist is a way to help clients counteract the violence of the erasure they experience. Whether through talk therapy or art-making, I offer people a therapeutic container and stable support to express their own life story based on who they really are inside, and in relationship to the communities they are part of. The world needs your voice.
I am a queer, Jewish woman of trans experience who comes from a family of Soviet immigrants. My degree is in Art Therapy and Counseling from Southwestern College in O'gah P'ogeh (otherwise known as Santa Fe, New Mexico) with over 15 years of creative community and cultural experiences. Previously my practice has included working with partners in poly relationships and teens, while now my focus is on individual adults. I am passionate about working with people of all backgrounds, including people whose identities have been marginalized due to systemic oppressions and those who otherwise do not fit into dominant frameworks. I look forward to working with you

Insurance: I am currently an in-network provider with Aetna, Premera and Lifewise and considered out-of-network for most other major insurance plans. If I am out-of-network with your insurer, I can provide a superbill which you can submit for reimbursement. Clients with the above insurances typically only pay a co-payment amount out of pocket or only pay the full fee until their deductible is met.
