Emotional Support Animals
When mental health symptoms become disabling, an emotional support animal (ESA) can be an effective aid. Getting a letter from a mental health professional can allow you to keep your emotional support animal in your home or apartment. An assessment of mental health conditions and suitability of this treatment option are required to receive a letter. Evaluations for an ESA letter take about 50 minutes and cost $130.
Gender Affirming Surgery
Some medical and insurance providers may require a letter of support from a mental health professional before approving gender affirming treatments. Although here at Optimism we strongly believe that all medical decisions are first and foremost our clients, we are more than happy to provide the supportive documentation currently required. An evaluation for a letter of support typically takes about 30 minutes and is available on a "pay what you can" sliding scale that goes all the way down to $0.
