Do you find yourself unable to settle into the present moment? Are you finding your mind racing with thoughts about the past, operating on autopilot, or on continued problem-solving/planning-mode? If so, you might benefit from biopsychosocial mental health interventions based on mindfulness.
By using readily available resources in your environment to ensure you can show up as your authentic Self, we can explore what it means to have a life in which you are able to savor the fullness of every passing moment, while also recognizing the ways in which your body communicates different emotions, and how different thoughts impact the way your body exists in time-and-space.
If this is something you're interested in exploring, I would love to connect with you!
My therapeutic style places an emphasis on the journey itself, with a special focus on whole-person care via the mind-body connection to help mitigate burnout (emotional exhaustion), depression, anxiety and PTSD symptoms. While I believe in letting the client lead the work, I enjoy therapeutic styles that mesh positive psychology with philosophical approaches. As such, I use CBT, mindfulness-based interventions such as breathing techniques, body scans, meditation, self-compassion exercises, in addition to strengths-based therapy, and motivational interviewing.
As a first-generation Mexican Queer, I am especially passionate about bridging gaps in mental health and providing culturally- component care that rests on a foundation of authenticity and acceptance. Outside of this work, I enjoy working out, cycling, exploring coffee shops, and meditating.
I obtained my BA in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin (hook 'em horns!) with an undergraduate thesis on psyche-therapy in which I explored the effects of mindfulness on PTSD, depression, and anxiety.
Currently, I am obtaining a master’s in clinical social work from the University of Washington with a specialization in Integrative Health that emphasizes using environment-mind-body-spirit-cultural interventions in the therapeutic setting.
$50 per hourly session with a sliding scale available, payable via credit, debit, FSA, or HSA account.
As an intern level therapist, I am not able to submit claims to insurance.
